Picking From the Themed Cruises List
Themes vary in how much of the cruise they take over. A full-ship music charter feels like a festival from the first hour; a cooking theme might be two demonstrations and a dinner during a normal week. Ask how many hours of themed events there are, whether they are included in the fare, and whether non-fans in your party will enjoy the rest of the ship.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a themed cruise and a charter?
On a charter, one organizer books the whole ship and everyone aboard shares the theme. On many other themed cruises, the theme group has a block of cabins and its own events on a ship that also carries ordinary guests.
Where can I find themed cruises for next year?
Theme organizers usually announce their sailings a year or more ahead on their own websites. The network sites in this list follow the main organizers, and our cruise advisors can check what is open for your dates.
Questions to Ask Before Booking From a Themed Cruises List
- Who runs the theme? A cruise line’s own program, an outside charter company or a group host. Each handles changes and refunds differently.
- What is included? Some themes are built into the fare; others charge a separate event package.
- How much of the ship is themed? A whole-ship charter, a large block of cabins or a few hosted events.
- What happens if a headliner cancels? Read the organizer’s terms; performers and speakers can change.
- Can non-fans come? Partners who do not share the interest may enjoy a part-themed sailing more than a charter.
Themes also come and go by season. Holiday sailings cluster in December, sports fans follow the calendar of their sport, and many music charters sail in the cooler months in the Caribbean. If a theme you want has no sailing on your dates, the A–Z index may point you to a related type that does.
